How Much Does It Cost to Create Your Own Beer?

How much does it cost to make beer?

Creating your own custom-branded beer is an exciting and memorable way to promote your brand, celebrate a milestone, or offer something unique at an event or venue. One of the most common questions we get at Whitelabel Brewing is: how much does it actually cost to create your own beer?

Let’s break it down with real numbers.

1. Entry-Level Pricing

Our pricing is transparent and simple. As of now, entry-level pricing starts at $51.90 + GST per carton of Aussie Lager, with a minimum order of 30 cartons. Each carton contains 16 cans, which works out to 480 cans in total—roughly the same as 20 traditional 24-can cartons.

There is also a one-off setup fee of $90 + GST, which covers your custom artwork setup and pre-production prep.

This starting price includes:

  • A full production run of custom-branded beer
  • Basic custom artwork and label design (more on that below)
  • Quality Australian craft beer, brewed to order

Other beer styles such as Pale Ale and Premium Lager are available at a slightly higher price point.

2. Free Artwork & Label Design

We include free basic label design to help you bring your brand to life. Just send us your logo and a general idea of the look you’re after. If your design is highly detailed or culturally specific, there may be an extra fee—but we’ll always let you know upfront.

You have full creative control over your label, with the only required elements being the legal panel, volume, and alcohol content—these can be styled to match your branding.

3. Packaging Options

All beer is supplied in plain white cartons with an external sticker for easy identification. Want to upgrade the look?

  • Add 4-pack clips for easy handouts and presentation.
  • Opt for printed cartons for a more branded, professional finish (note: these have some print limitations due to the cardboard material).

These optional extras come at an added cost, but they make a big difference for events, corporate gifting, or retail use.

4. Shipping Variables

Shipping is calculated based on a few key factors:

  • Residential vs. commercial delivery location
  • Whether there’s a forklift on site to unload the pallet
  • Geographic location — metro vs. regional delivery

Having a forklift or delivering to a commercial address can reduce shipping costs. If not, a tail lift truck or hand unloading might be needed, which some couriers charge extra for.

5. Real Value for Your Investment

When you consider you’re getting 480 cans of custom-branded beer starting from around $1,557 + GST (including setup fee, excluding shipping), it’s clear that this is an affordable and impactful way to promote your brand. Whether you’re a business, club, or event organiser, it’s a unique and memorable product that people will talk about.
